Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Theory Test UK mobile application (“App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. About the App

Theory Test UK helps you practise for the UK car driving theory test using study materials inspired by The Highway Code and traffic signs. The App is an independent educational product.

Important: The App is not the official DVSA theory test, is not affiliated with or endorsed by DVSA or GOV.UK, and does not guarantee that you will pass any official test.

2. Eligibility

You must be able to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law. If you use the App on behalf of someone else, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for them.

3. Licence to use the App

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial study. You must not:

  • Copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the App except as allowed by law
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-export content for republication
  • Attempt to bypass paywalls, limits, or security controls
  • Use the App in any unlawful or harmful way

4. Accounts

Some features may require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

5. Subscriptions & payments

Premium features may be offered via auto-renewable subscriptions (for example Weekly or Monthly) purchased through the Apple App Store.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device (or the equivalent Apple Account subscription settings).
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s refund policies, except where mandatory consumer law says otherwise.

Where Apple’s Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (Standard EULA) applies to App Store purchases, it also forms part of your agreement with Apple. See: Apple Standard EULA.

6. Free features & limits

Free use may include daily practice limits, limited favourites, and other restrictions described in the App. We may change free limits from time to time.

7. Educational content disclaimer

Practice questions are original study materials inspired by Highway Code topics. They are not official DVSA exam questions. Highway Code text and sign imagery may include Crown copyright material reproduced under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

Always check the latest official guidance on GOV.UK before your test. You are responsible for your own preparation and compliance with road traffic law.

8. Intellectual property

The App, branding, original quiz content, and software are owned by us or our licensors. Official materials remain subject to their own licences (including OGL for Crown copyright content).

9. Availability

We aim to keep the App available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Features may change, and we may suspend or stop parts of the App with reasonable notice where practical.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on App content, exam outcomes, inability to access the App, or indirect / consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

11. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. If you continue using the App after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
